Lyrics

Bad and Good

Cirimelli/Ham

There are two sides of me
One is slave, one is free
Bound to love, chained to hate
At times it’s hard to separate
I’ve danced with angels in broad daylight
fought my demons in the darkest night
Part hometown, part Hollywood
Got me some bad and got some good

I don’t know which road I’m on
High or low, here or gone
I’ll stop tryin’ to defend
Where I started, where I’ll end

A heart of gold, a heart of stone
One lights a fire, one leaves you cold
I would change me if I could
Got me some bad and got some good

I don’t know which road I’m on
High or low, here or gone
I’ll stop tryin’ to defend
Where I started, where I’ll end

There are two sides of me
One is slave, one is free
Bound to love, chained to hate
At times it’s hard to separate
I would change me if I could
Got me some bad, and got some good

Born Again

Spears/Parris

Left the payment in the driveway
Left the memories in the attic
Sold the whole damn thing on E-bay
Everything

Bought a rusted up ol Pinto
Gets about a hundred thousand miles a gallon
Threw my cellphone out the window
Yeah, there it goes

And I’ll ride into the sunset
And I’ll leave it all behind
And I’ll throw away the baggage
Weighing heavy on my mind
Gonna rise up from the wreckage
Where you left me there for dead
Now I am back among the livin’
Born again
Born again

Stopped a while in Colorado
Raisin’ horses in Durango
Bummed around in San Diego
Yeah Mission Beach

Did some things I always wanted
When I was too busy trying to please you
I’m going to patch up this ol rudder
Raise the sail

And I’ll ride into the sunset
And I’ll leave it all behind
And I’ll throw away the baggage
Weighing heavy on my mind
Gonna rise up from the wreckage
Where you left me there for dead
Now I’m back among the livin’
Born again

When the tide hits the shoreline of Hawaii
Maybe I might even try to find me
A local girl and we can share a short board
As the sun goes down over the north shore

And we’ll ride into the sunset
Leave it all behind
And I’ll throw away the baggage
Weighing heavy on my mind
Gonna rise up from the wreckage
Where you left me there for dead
Now I am back among the livin’
Born again
Born again

Born again

The Bottom Line

Raven Cliff/Cirimelli

Kissin’ the sands of south beach up from mile marker 1
Where the high and low brows mix it up
Runnin’ rum in my ’69 up 95 the way i ran shine
Where i come from
That old black water’s dancing
In that seminole wind
I’ll be takin’ my georgia peach
Out to hammerhead fred’s out on panama beach

We’ve been living alright
Drivin’ all day just to party all night
Set ’em up, knock ’em down
Let’s throw back another round
And when the southern sun comes a-creepin’ in
Let’s gas it up and do it all again
The water’s fine down on the bottom line

Runnin’ sweet home through alabam
Just a ramblin’ man truckin’ it down the road
Roll tide roll
Had a case of biloxi blues ’til i doubled down
Yeah, that mississippi queen hates to lose
To a guy like me
My red-headed flame down in new orleans
She’s a kiss of cajun spice
Born out on the bayou
They laissez les bons temps rouler, ca va

We’ve been living alright
Drivin’ all day just to party all night
Set ’em up, knock ’em down
Let’s throw back another round
And when the southern sun comes a-creepin’ in
Let’s gas it up and do it all again
The water’s fine down on the bottom line

By the time we get to rockport
I kicked the shoes right off my feet
My little yellow rose of texas
Damn, she’s dancing up sand on south padre beach

We’ve been living alright
Drivin’ all day just to party all night
Set ’em up, knock ’em down
Let’s throw back another round
And when the southern sun comes a-creepin’ in
Let’s gas it up and do it all again
The water’s fine down on the bottom line

Burning Bridge

Cirimelli/Ham

She’s like Eve in the garden before the first bite
The storm before the calm in the night
A one-of-a-kind perfect mess
She’s the kind of girl the boys wanna meet
The kind of girl the girls wanna be
A tomboy farmer’s daughter in a party dress
She’s as cool as the last summer rain
’til she sets the midnight on fire

She’s so unpredictable
Always short of typical
She don’t know impossible
Can’t change who she is
It’s just like her to dance on a burnin’ bridge

I’ve seen her walk on water in high-heeled shoes
Heard her laugh out loud while she’s singin’ the blues
Hey – can somebody tell me where she comes from
She’s as cool as the last summer rain
’til she sets the midnight on fire

She’s so unpredictable
Always short of typical
She don’t know impossible
Can’t change who she is
It’s just like her to dance on a burnin’ bridge

She’s so unpredictable
Always short of typical
She don’t know impossible
Can’t change who she is
It’s just like her to dance on a burnin’ bridge

California, Here She Comes

Cirimelli/Ham

Sheʼs always been a mystery, the backside of a tapestry
Somebodyʼs little angel runninʼ wild
her beauty always says it all, like cinderella at the ball
Hhe masquerade lasts only for a while

Just when you think your love could make her stay
Like a mist she fades away

California, here she comes ~ sheʼs a heartbreak on the run
Sheʼll fall in love and then it all comes crashinʼ in
Sheʼll say I love you more and more as sheʼs walking out the door
Gives her heart and then she takes it back again
Sheʼs always runninʼ like the wind
California, here she comes

Sheʼs the cool that always burns ~ the hardest lesson to be learned
A never-ending rollercoaster ride
Tired of her destiny, youʼre just another casualty
Be thankful for the blessings in disguise

Cause when you think your love will make her cry
Thatʼs the time sheʼs gonna fly

Faiths Under Fire

Raven Cliff/Cirimelli

I’ve seen this day a-comin’ man, it ain’t no lie
It’s been comin’ for a while
Been wanderin’ ’round these days prayin’ hope
can heal a blind eye
Devil’s out to get his due,
Brother, we’ve go work to do
Don’t think he won’t take everything you’ve got

It’s a little late to think you’ll have the chance to jump this train
Lord, it ain’t no easy ride
When all the good is left to lie beside those lonesome tracks
Somewhere burnin’ down the line — faith’s under fire

You want somethin’ to believe in, well, it ain’t that preacher man
Who tells you he’s a saint
And your ticket to salvation every Sunday
Is your money in his plate
That preacher’s out to get his due,
Brother, we’ve got work to do
Don’t think he won’t take everything you’ve got.

It’s a little late to think you’ll have the chance to jump this train
Lord, it ain’t no easy ride
When all the good is left to lie beside those lonesome tracks
Somewhere burnin’ down the line — faith’s under fire

It’s a little late to think you’ll have the chance to jump this train
Lord, it ain’t no easy ride
When all the good is left to lie beside those lonesome tracks
Somewhere burnin’ down the line — faith’s under fire

Don’t Need Much

Spears/Luboff/Luboff

A rusted out truck
An old farm house
My favorite coffee cup
This blue tick hound
The things I own are few
I don’t need much
But I need you

A few good friends
Who believe in me
Sunday morning church
And the good book to read
Some useful work to do
I don’t need much
But I need you

Everything I have, everything I do
None of it means anything if I don’t have you
It could all blow away in the blink of an eye
But I wouldn’t care as long as you are here

Your hand to hold
A sweet kiss goodnight
Your warmth when it’s cold
And your love in my life
For a lifetime or two
I don’t need much
But I need you

And just your touch
That’s enough
To get me through
No I don’t need much
I just need you

Jesus Lookin’ Back

Cirimelli/Satcher

I see Jesus lookin’ back
I got something I wanna ask
Would you save a man like me
Tangled up in whiskey and guitar strings

I see Jesus lookin’ back
Starin’ at my empty glass
Kitchen table in the middle of the night
Prayin’ I’ll make it ‘til the mornin’ light

It’s a cryin’ shame I’ve made a game
Of being the way I am
It’s a matter of time ‘til luck runs dry
What man wants to end like that
With Jesus lookin’ back

I see Jesus lookin’ back
Ain’t no moon shinin’ on my tracks
A darker road you will not find
There ain’t no shoulder and there ain’t no signs

It’s a cryin’ shame I’ve made a game
Of being the way I am
It’s a matter of time ‘til luck runs dry
What man wants to end like that
With Jesus lookin’ back

Give me one more chance
Won’t you give me one more chance

It’s a cryin’ shame I’ve made a game
Of being the way I am
It’s a matter of time ‘til luck runs dry
What man wants to end like that
I don’t want an end like that
With Jesus
With Jesus lookin’ back

I see Jesus lookin’ back
I see Jesus lookin’ back

Living to the Rhythm

Cirimelli/Satcher

Livin’ to the rhythm of four wheels turning
Everything I’ve got’s in the trunk of this car
Livin’ to the rhythm of that sad, sad song on the radio

Midnight highway got me another taste of too far
from where you are
Oh, this runnin’ fever can make a man feel like he ain’t got no
home

I don’t know what to tell you
Baby, I don’t know what to say

Livin’ to the rhythm of two sets a night
Bustin’ my strings under neon lights
Livin’ to the rhythm of dance hall floors and breaking glass
Hey baby, you can’t blame me for living to the rhythm of who I
am

Livin’ to the rhythm, my phone call’s ringin’
I don’t know why you don’t pick it up (pick it up)
Are you getting’ tired of a ramblin’ man’s conversation

You know how it goes
Baby, you know how it goes

I’ll be back when I’m back
That’s all I can say about that

Love The Sinner

Roberts/Kelly

I found another bottle hid behind your Bible
All the way in the back of our dresser drawer
How long will I keep hoping, how long do I keep praying
That you’re not going to do this anymore

Should I just keep on searching for another shot of hurtin’
Do I really want to know how many more
Or pretend I didn’t see it, will that make me not believe it
Like the fool I’ve been a thousand times before

I hate trying to excuse you, watching you abuse you
And I hate myself for always giving in
And I hate that I don’t leave you
that I still want to believe you
And I hate the Hell that we keep living in
I still love the sinner, but God, I hate the sin

I thought that I could help you, and maybe help me too
‘Cause I thought I could fix it all with love
I guess I’m not enough a reason
to make you chase away the demons
And right now I’m really close to giving up

Naked

Spears/Wright/Earnest

Seems like it was just yesterday when we first met
And i bet cha you can still remember
All the eloquent things, i said like
I dont wanna hear about your life story
I dont wanna talk about the weather
I dont even know what color eyes ya got, honey
I just want us horizontal together

I wanna see you naked,
I wanna get cha in your birthday suit
I wanna see you naked
Let me tell ya what i wanna do
I wanna take your clothes off, spend tonight making sweet love to you
I wanna see you naked, yeah i wanna get naked too, yes i do

Now it takes all kinds of people, and sometimes life is strange
But truth is universal, and honey, some things never change
I dont wanna talk about what i did all day
I dont care what cha made for supper
I dont wanna think about the bills we gotta pay
I just wanna see that you”re my lover

I wanna see you naked,
I wanna get cha in your birthday suit
I wanna see you naked
Let me tell ya what i wanna do
I wanna take your clothes off, spend tonight making sweet love to you
I wanna see you naked, yeah i wanna get naked too

We can skip all the formality
Lets get down to fornacality

I wanna see you naked,
I wanna get cha in your birthday suit, honey
I wanna see you naked, yeah i wanna get naked too
I wanna take your clothes off, spend tonight making sweet love to you
I wanna see you naked, yeah i wanna get naked too

I wanna see you naked, yeah i wanna get naked too

Red and Blue

Cirimelli

Virginia looks down with her deep blue eyes
Wondering if there’s a soul who cares
It doesn’t matter how hard she tries
Feeling all of the looks and stares
Never remembers a day without sin
Never remembers just fitting in
Judged on her corner everyday
Why does it have to be this way

Johnny’s hair hasn’t been washed for days
He never asked to get on this ride
His only love is for the drugs he craves
It’s the only gift passed down from his daddy’s side
Never remembers feeling full
Never remembers ever being cool
Judged on his sidewalk everyday
Why does it have to be this way

When the Rose isn’t red and the sky isn’t blue
You think the time for hope is gone
and you don’t know what to do
God knows I don’t have any answers
for the pain that you’ve gone through
Is it faith that gives you reason to believe
When your rose isn’t red and your sky isn’t blue

If Virginia could know love without being touched
And if Johnny could be understood and saved
To have a good life and leave their mark
and not just quietly fade away
Never forgetting where they both have been
Never forgetting being taken in
To feel the power of love and be unafraid
Why can’t it always be this way

When the rose isn’t red and the sky isn’t blue
You think the time for hope is gone
and you don’t know what to do
God knows I don’t have any answers
for the hell that you’ve gone through
Is it faith that gives you reason to believe
When your rose isn’t red and your sky isn’t blue

Say Goodbye

Raven Cliff

If I could tell you I love you, I wouldn’t have to write a song
And if I could make you a melody, would you sing along?
Would you close your eyes and feel, a line that sends a chill
Or would you just smile and move along

If I had one night to hold you, I wouldn’t have to learn to dance
And if I could rope you the moon, I wouldn’t even need the chance
To spin around the room, for a moment with you
Together we would be and I’d be tellin you

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight
Every opportunity to hold you tight
And if a man’s in luck enough to see your loving eyes
He could tell you that he loves you, and wouldn’t have to say goodbye

My heart was set on fire, from the time you said hello
But I never found the time, and it all just faded into smoke
And the thing that burns the most, is knowing you’ve never known
Just how much I felt about you, and how much it hurts when he’s tellin you

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight
Every opportunity to hold you tight
And if a man’s in luck enough to see your loving eyes
He could tell you that he loves you,
I could tell you that I love you,
And wouldn’t have to say goodbye

Southern Poetry

Cirimelli/Satcher

Let me tell you plainly how it flies
Where the river runs and blue is in the sky
In a field a farmer throws the reins
And plows a row on down the plain
Just like his daddy did in days gone by
And he smiles

And when the beauty of the sunset needs a moment
He has to stop and watch it for awhile
It’s all around him like a song
He drinks it in and sings along
Every verse is written for his eyes

The rhyme and the rhythm of just livin’ here is all he needs
And the pages of his life read like Southern poetry

Sometimes he’ll stop off and have a Coke at Puckett’s
When it’s just too hot to work out in the sun
He’ll grab a chair, shake off the dust
Kick back with the rest of us
And pick guitars until the day is done

The rhyme and the rhythm of just livin’ here is all he needs
And when they lay him down in the arms of Tennessee
We’ll all gather round to tell some sweet home memories
Where the pages of this live read like Southern poetry
Yeah, the pages of his life read like Southern poetry

Suitcase

Raven Cliff/Cirimelli

October Fall is comin down
Me and this ol suitcase are headin out
The hardest choices are locked inside
Everything else gets left behind

Don’t know where I’m going, but I’m making good time
And I’ve always got that one thing by my side

A folded flag from 45, when Paw Paw gave his life
My brother’s baseball glove, I finally broke it in
When my story’s told
You can find out all it holds
Each and every memory in its place
In that old suitcase

Dotted lines and highway signs
Broken lives that feel that there’s no end in sight
I’ve always had to make my case,
Out of everything I’ve seen in this race

Don’t know where I’m going, but I’m making good time
And I’ve always got that one thing by my side

Daddy’s old 45, he swore it saved his life
But it was Momma’s grace and love, that finally brought him home
When my story’s told
You can find out all it holds
Each and every memory in its place
In that old suitcase

A folded flag from 45, when Paw Paw gave his life
My brother’s baseball glove, I finally broke it in
When my story’s told
You can find out all it holds
When I meet him face to face
Each and every memory in its place
In that old suitcase

Voodoo Whiskey

Spears/Cirimelli/Venier

Devil moon a-risin in the swamp tonight
Papaw and me gonna take a ride
Up a black slew where nobody goes
Lives an old man call him calico
Beard hang low like a spanish moss
Says a whole lot but he never talks
Just reaches down and he hands me a jar

Voodoo whiskey
Burnin right through your veins
Voodoo whiskey
Ya ain’t never gonna be the same
Voodoo whiskey
The pleasure’s worth the pain
Put it to your lips, take another sip
You’ll never be baptized quite like
Voodoo whiskey

Lord that spirit’s gonna hit ya fast
Ain’t no seein’ at the bottom of the glass
Perfect poison always tells the truth
Confess everything that you wanna do
Once that shine’s gotta hold of you
You’ll never know the things you’ll do
You’ll play your joker while you hold your ace

Voodoo whiskey
Burnin right through your veins
Voodoo whiskey
Ain’t never gonna be the same
Voodoo whiskey
The pleasure’s worth the pain
Put it to your lips, take another sip
You’ll never be baptized quite like
Voodoo whiskey
Put it to your lips, take another sip
Throw the hammer down, take another hit
You’ve never been baptized quite like this…
Voodoo whiskey

Texas Girls

Spears/Cook

Her idea of having fun, is sitting on the tailgate shooting my gun
When the stars are big and bright in that Texas sky
She’s hot to handle, she’s hard to hold,
She’ll keep ya warm when the beers ice cold
She’s all I wanna do on a lone star night

Texas girls
They’re made of all the things that can make ya cry
They’ll kiss and hug and love you when you’re on their good side
Texas girls
When you pick her up ya better be ready to ride
With a big pair of boots and a 4 wheel drive
Brother I’ve been all around the world
If you ain’t gotta gun, don’t mess with Texas girls

Shell treat ya so good, you’ll wanna change your name
Too fast to catch, too wild to tame
She’s a real piece of work but a work of art
Gulf coast sand between our toes
Just holdin’ her hand next thing I know
I got yellow rose thorns deep in my heart

Shes my no slack, talk smack, throw ‘em back, twist of fate
Shes wants everything that’s bigger, in the lone star state

The Weasel

Raven Cliff

Mrs. Hampton was tending the garden and greens
She’d worked so hard to raise
The weasel took notice and said “By all means
Please give me the rake and the spade

I’ll help you to tend to your garden and chores
In return I get half the crop
I will plant and water and pull weeds
Everyday till I pop”

He stayed to his word and worked like a dog
Though a weasel was his kind
Til one night poor Mrs. Hampton slept like a log
He robbed her damn near blind.
He pulled and he took all the dirt that he shook
Nothing left but the ground as the greed lives in his mind

Folks round here they would have you know
You cant be too careful or quick.
You learn from the past but so does the foe
He’s smart, he’s slimy, he’s slick.

With a smile and a wink he’ll creep and he’ll sneak
Till nary a penny in the pocket of man.
Beware the weasel the first chance you get

You can decide to be taken for a ride if the weasel knocks at your door
Deception of a man lies only in his hands, and his truth will soon be known

Folks round here they would have you know
You cant be too careful or quick.
You learn from the past but so does the foe
He’s smart, he’s slimy, he’s slick.

With a smile and a wink he’ll creep and he’ll sneak
Till nary a penny in the pocket of man.
Be ware the weasel the first chance you get
The very first chance you can
